Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your note of the 23d instant, concerning a hundred head of cattle, thought to have been [Page 425] stolen from Mexican territory, and alleged to have been disposed of by four cow-boys to certain dealers of Tombstone, Arizona Territory, upon the 10th of this month.
Observing that I have referred a copy of your note to the Secretary of the Interior for his consideration and action, I take, &c.
