167. As a result of yesterday’s plebiscite the Government announces an overwhelming victory for the Monarchy. The opposition accounting for only 5 percent of the votes recorded. This vote cannot be accepted as a true indication of popular feeling. Many Republicans undoubtedly abstained from voting and plural voting by Monarchists appears to have been widespread, as well as intimidation at the polls, non-issuance of opposition ballots and other means of enforcing the Government’s will.

By governmental decree the Regency under Kondylis has been continued until the arrival of the King which is provisionally set for November 17th.
