Vice Consul Simpich to the Secretary of State.

Nogales, April 24, 1914, 6 p.m.

At 8 o’clock last night committee Mexicans notified Americans in Nacozari they must leave. Train was assembled, Americans were disarmed and placed aboard. All arrived safely at Douglas on border 6 a.m. today. Estimated that hundred and twenty Americans came out. Cananea Consolidated Copper Company closing its mine at Cananea tonight. Second special train being held there to bring out all remaining Americans who will come.
