I have discussed with several officers of the Department, including Mr. Acheson,91 the memorandum prepared by Mr. Pierson regarding the mechanics whereby the Export-Import Bank will make financial assistance available to Brazilian groups who may desire to purchase Axis business enterprises. These officers approve.
It is suggested that you review the list of intervened firms for the purpose of selecting a firm which might be used as a test case and that, on your proposed trip to Washington, you bring with you all available information concerning the firm you select. [Walmsley.]
