The Embassy has just been orally informed by the Foreign Office that there is no objection to the visit of the U. S. S. Augusta and accompanying vessels on the proposed dates.67 The Japanese Government however requests that these vessels do not enter the Inland Sea [Page 243] during the month of September. They may do so in October after the Kobe visit.
