The Anglo-German Naval Agreement, June 18, 1935

[On April 26, 1935, it was announced in London that German naval experts would arrive shortly for the purpose of discussing informally the subject of German naval power with British Admiralty representatives. The arrival of the German delegation, headed by Herr Joachim von Ribbentrop, was delayed, however, until June 2. The conversations which followed (June 4–22) culminated in an agreement embodied in an exchange of notes, June 18, 1935; for text of agreement, see British Treaty Series No. 22 (1935).]
