It should rest with Mrs. Reid to decide as to the acceptance of the offer of the British Government to convey the body of the late Ambassador on a British ship of war, and her preference will be entirely acceptable to the Department. When you have ascertained the wishes of Mrs. Reid, you will express in the course of your reply to Sir Edward Grey the high appreciation felt by this Government for the courteous offer.
