5445. Personal for the Secretary. In my message to you (5419, July 9) I was thinking of Article VII in relation to commercial policy. It occurred to me that while Richard Law is in Washington for the oil conference74 he might invite Acheson and Hawkins to come here after discussing the situation with you. Would you approve of this procedure? It would be necessary for Law to get authority from the Cabinet here to issue the invitation.
