The Ambassador in the Soviet Union (Harriman) to the Secretary of State

2423. Embassy’s 2236, June 22, 10 p.m. The Foreign Office states in a note dated July 1 that the following delegation to the London Committee on Political Propaganda has been appointed by the Soviet Government: Chairman of the Delegation, A. A. Sobolev, Counselor of the Soviet Embassy in Great Britain, G. F. Saksin, Counselor of the Soviet Embassy in Great Britain, and Major General A. V. Vasilev, Deputy Head of the Soviet military mission in London.

The Foreign Office also states that a special “Bureau of Propaganda for Enemy and Enemy-occupied Countries” has been organized in the Sovinformburo headed by S. A. Lozovski who may be approached in regard to all pertinent questions.
