The Minister in Switzerland (Harrison) to the Secretary of State

1935. Sequence Legation’s 631 January 31.12 Berlin despatches 29th state Wilhelmstrasse spokesman in reply to inspired question declared “preparations for trial of captured Allied soldiers charged with war crimes are now well advanced”. Despatches add spokesman referred to American and British as well as Russian prisoners but intimated such trials would not actually take place unless new trials took place against German prisoners in hands United Nations.
