26. Your 16, March 7, 8 p.m. The Foreign Minister told me last night that the Greek Government had not yet issued the instructions referred to but had on March 7 addressed a letter to the International Financial Commission requesting permission to do so at once exempting payments to such creditors as still insist on payments on gold basis. This morning he requested me to inform you that the United States 1929 loan will be given equal treatment under the same reservations as last year.
