The Dominican Minister to the Assistant Secretary of State.

Excellency: I take pleasure in acknowledging receipt of your kind letter of the 14th instant,3 relative to the approaching visit of his excellency Mr. Knox to the Republics of Central America and the Caribbean Sea, among which the Dominican Republic is one.

It has given me great pleasure to notify my Government of this visit, and I am equally glad to assure the Department of State that my country and my Government regard the visit of his excellency Mr. Knox as a high honor, which offers them an opportunity to show their cordial respect for the North American dignitary and for his Government and country.

I shall be very grateful to your excellency for any further information which you may send me concerning the contemplated visit, which will surely have a substantial influence on the good relations now existing between this country and those above mentioned.
